Europe Trip

This guest post from Werner Rogers
I am headed to Europe in a few months, and I could not be more excited. I’ve planned the entire trip down to practically each minute. It’s been really difficult to concentrate on much of anything else in the meantime, actually. One thing I’ve been doing my best to focus on is saving money. I don’t want to have a moment in the middle of Germany where I realize I don’t have much money left and have to worry the rest of the trip. I’m putting away every penny I can spare for my trip. I’m no longer buying any clothes and I’ve cut out most of my unnecessary purchases. I make my coffee at home and have been bringing my lunch to work. Another awesome thing that I recently discovered is that I have the ability to choose my energy providers and can make that decision solely on which provider offers the best rates. This has turned out to be a great way for me to save some money for my trip. I can’t wait. Shop Electricity rates TEXAS to see if you can save some money too.

The Perils of Hunting the Elusive Babysitter

So, I just spent the ENTIRE day interviewing potential babysitters.  I have a surgery coming up and needed to find someone who could stay home with me for a week to help me with lifting and changing and stuff related to wrestling a 2 year old.  And, frankly, I have been putting off finding a baby sitter to the detriment of my relationship with my husband.  The respondents were as varied in backgrounds as one could imagine, each had qualities that made you think they would be perfect and qualities that made you think they might be a poor choice.  We finally decided on one candidate who just seemed to put our daughter at ease (the baby cried when she left!).  We called the girl, only to find out she had interviewed for another job as well, and was weighing her decision as to which she wanted to take.  So...we had to wait, and re-review our choices, and bite out nails, and hope against hope that she would call back and tell us we had won the right to have her care for our daughter.

Luckily the sitter made the right choice and picked us!  I just hope that we were correct in our assessment that this young woman is the one who will be able to help our baby girl and her mommy realize it's okay for mommy and daddy to go out without the baby from time to time!
